In Angola, Newrest’s teams deploy an operating model based on QHSSE excellence every day. This requirement, which is at the heart of our corporate culture, is reflected in a series of concrete initiatives aimed at protecting our employees, supporting our customers and preserving the environment.

A dedicated training center to strengthen skills

Before boarding on site, each collaborator receives a theoretical and practical refresher in our training center. This space makes it possible to consolidate skills, standardize best practices and guarantee a high level of operational readiness.

Risk assessment tools as close as possible to the field

To prevent incidents and improve operational control, Newrest Angola has introduced a risk assessment booklet, including a start-up checklist for the use of trenchers. This simple and effective tool allows you to integrate safety from the very first steps.

Weekly campaigns to strengthen Safety leadership

Every week, internal campaigns encourage our teams to take ownership of the non-negotiable rules, which are perfectly aligned with our clients’ Golden Rules. The objective: to make everyone responsible for their safety, that of others, and the impact of their actions on the environment.

Comprehensive health support for our collaborators and their families

As health is a fundamental pillar of performance, Newrest Angola organizes:

  • pre-board medical examinations,
  • health plans for our employees and their families, ensuring comprehensive and sustainable support.

A dynamic of continuous improvement driven by our I Care Ambassadors

At each location, I Care Ambassadors embody our QHSSE culture. They promote our non-negotiable rules, offer constructive feedback to their peers, and actively contribute to continuous improvement.

A positive approach thanks to the observation map

Our Observation Card is used to immediately stop any dangerous actions, but also to encourage interactions on the ground and recognize exemplary behavior. A balanced approach between prevention, dialogue and valorization.

Enhanced attention to nutrition

Aware of the impact of food on health and performance, we implement a nutritional program tailored to the specific realities and needs of each site.

Constant field engagement via  Gemba Walks

Every week, managers go out into the field to talk to the teams, understand their challenges and support best practices. This approach is systematized on onshore sites and encouraged on offshore sites when conditions allow.

Strong cohesion thanks to QHSSE team buildings

Our weekly QHSSE rituals bring together all departments to:

  • celebrate small victories,
  • analyse lessons learned,
  • evaluate our performance,
  • define our priorities.

An initiative that strengthens collective commitment and makes each team progress.

A clear ambition: To protect, to respect, to improve

Newrest Angola is committed to protecting its employees, customers and the environment, by complying with the rules and adopting new and safe technologies. Our ambition: to further strengthen our safety culture

Strong recognition from TotalEnergies

On January 13, 2026 in Luanda, Newrest was selected to share its best practices at the HSE Forum organized by TotalEnergies with all its contractors.

Our intervention, focused on training, skills and PPE, followed the conclusions of the catering workshops held on October 24th.

This invitation represents a major recognition: all our QHSSE actions in Angola led TotalEnergies to highlight us ast their Contractor Meeting.
