An Aircraft for Ramp Safety Training in Arlanda, Sweden
Europe
Decommissioned Aircraft for Ramp Safety Training
The Arlanda’s Ramp Safety Manager contacted Swedavia regarding the possibility to rent this aircraft, as he knows it has been at Arlanda for a long time. The aircraft is an old MD-82 that was taken out of service in 2013, it is now owned by Swedavia and is being used as a training aircraft.
Aircraft approach, positioning of truck, door handling and reversing from aircraft to name a few. Being able to train on an abandoned aircraft is rare and has a huge impact on training standards and efficiency. “The goal is that after completing the exercise, the trainee should feel comfortable and be well prepared for the continued practical training for loading aircrafts.”
