In remote sites, Newrest offers much more than catering services. The group meets all types of needs and offers a 360° solution ranging from restaurant dining to leisure activities, including cleaning and laundry. By transforming these isolated sites into real living spaces, Newrest creates a warm and welcoming environment, thus ensuring the well-being of residents.
A 360° solution in remote sites
Newrest offers a complete range of services in remote sites, integrating catering, hospitality, leisure, amenities, and Facility Management (cleaning, maintenance, waste management).
Thanks to its 360° solution, these services are integrated directly on-site, transforming the remote site into a real mini-city with dynamic spaces and adapted communication.
To improve the well-being of residents, Newrest arranges friendly restaurants, relaxation areas, game rooms, cinemas, and sports fields. To compensate for the remoteness of urban centers, the company also provides essential amenities such as mini-markets and hairdressers, allowing employees to easily access daily services without leaving the camp. Inspired by local and international trends, this approach promotes a pleasant living environment, conducive to unwinding after an intense workday.
Thematic animations throughout the year
A Newrest animation is an event organized over a day or a week. The theme of the animation is reflected in the employees’ plates, as well as in the decoration and communication materials. Additionally, activities are sometimes planned to enrich the experience. There are several types of animations:
- Country-specific celebrations to honor culture and history: Newrest adapts to the country and guests. In Uganda, for example, the client is Chinese, so Newrest plans Chinese New Year celebrations.
- Official Newrest animation program: each year, Newrest develops a new culinary animation surfing on the latest innovations and trends. From September to June, this animation transforms meals into real sensory experiences. In 2024-2025, the AROM program introduces guests to concentrated flavors and focuses each month on a category such as spices, citrus fruits, or aromatic herbs.
- “Yummy” animations: during this animation, remote sites highlight a product or supplier by presenting it to employees.
- Sports animations: these animations can be local or international, such as during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. They generally include games and quizzes.
- Responsible animations: focused on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), these animations are based on official weeks, such as Sustainable Development Week or Week for Waste Reduction. Here, the goal is to raise employee awareness and train them in good practices. For example, in Madagascar, on the QMM site, employees organize a “Clean Camp” operation every month.
A program designed for remote sites’ residents: Feel Good
To address the current challenges faced by energy and mining sector players in terms of employee health and well-being, Newrest has developed a comprehensive program: “Feel Good” by Newrest.
This program aims to raise awareness among remote sites’ residents and promote good habits in terms of nutrition, physical activity, and hygiene. It offers various information as well as practical and easy-to-apply daily tips.
Several camps offer sports classes for employees (and sometimes for their families) as well as tournaments.
