A new production unit for Newrest’s in-flight catering services opens in Agadir

Newrest teams in Morocco are proud to announce the opening of their new inflight catering services production unit at Agadir Al-Massir airport. Since the 2nd of November, this unit is operational 24/7. Moreover, it allows Newrest to provide services on board of the 2 daily Ryanair flights based in Agadir. Indeed, Ryanair is expanding by offering new flights between Agadir and seven European countries during the 2021-2022 winter season. Aligned with the Newrest’s environmental commitments set out in its CSR charter “Be the Change”, this new unit will produce its own electricity from solar energy.

Newrest has recruited 5 employees in the Agadir region to ensure its expansion, with the desire to participate in the development of local talent. These employees have followed a complete training program in the heart of the inflight catering units already existing in Morocco.

By accompanying its client Ryanair in its growth and participating in local employment, Newrest contributes to the tourism and economic development of the region.

Newrest, a key player in the development of the Agadir region

Ryanair’s choice to open a new base in Agadir is a decisive step in line with the strategies of the Moroccan National Tourist Office to promote tourism in the region. Eventually, the Agadir – Taghazout seaside resorts will become the leading tourist area in North Africa.

In this ecosystem, the Group finds its place thanks to its air catering services. To respond to this desire to concentrate efforts around tourism, Newrest intends to extend its inflight catering services. The caterer will offer its expertise to the VIP segment, a clientele that is highly sought after by the local tourism industry.

In parallel, Newrest is planning to build an extension of the catering unit at Agadir-Al-Massiran airport to reinforce its services. This will meet the expansion needs of other airlines who are also participating in the region’s tourism development project.

The Group and its teams in Morocco are pleased to participate in the success of its private and public partners.
