Newrest becomes Air Dolomiti’s onboard retail supplier
Air Dolomiti, the Italian airline of the Lufthansa Group, has relaunched its in-flight service on the 15th of December. To carry out its onboard retail menu, the airline worked hand in hand with Newrest as part of a new contract.
The menu reaches few Newrest key values: the culinary knowledge and know-how showcases the Italian culture of taste, a sustainable approach and the aim to take care of nutrition. According to this manifesto, the inflight catering introduces fresh dishes and a wide range of hot and cold drinks matching different diets.
The retail program was designed based on ideas and recommendations from Newrest in terms of marketing, product selection and pricing.
Newrest chosen for its expertise in retail and inflight catering
Newrest has a long-standing experience of managing onboard retail programs. It aims at optimizing sales and reducing operating costs.
Technology is a major aspect of Newrest’s scope of work. The technological architecture to sustain the program is composed of multiple components. The crews are equipped with Newrest’s connected crew application and a payment terminal accepting offline payments. Transactions and stock movements are reconciled through Newrest in house ERP that communicates with the airline operating system.
Newrest monitors the performance of the program using its internal business intelligence system and provides insights and recommendations to Air Dolomiti to manage the retail program with ideas in terms of spend and passenger satisfaction.
