Polynesia Pink October

Once again, in 2024, Newrest teams around the world have mobilized to prevent breast and prostate cancers.

The importance of well-being

Newrest has always placed great importance on the health, safety, and well-being of its employees. Recently, the group launched the ‘Feel Good’ program, and for many years before, it has organized sports or stretching sessions to ensure its employees feel good.

Every year, the teams are actively involved in the fight against cancer, whether through the Foundation Unlimited’s partnership with the Fondation Toulouse Cancer Santé or through awareness activities during Pink October or Movember.

2024 Pink October initiatives

Numerous Newrest units have taken proactive measures to prevent cancer and raise awareness about it.

In the inflight sector, the teams were wearing pink and offering special macarons to raise awareness among passengers. In the rail sector, Facilit’Rail collaborators were proudly wearing a pink ribbon. They sold nearly 7,000 special raspberry cakes and 10,000 euros have been donated to the Ruban Rose association.

In collaboration with Oryx International School, Kims Medical Center and Barwa City, Newrest Gulf participated to a “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” event, along with parents, teachers and administration staff. The guest speaker, Dr. Shobha Justus Victoria, gave a talk on “Recognising Early Signs of Breast Cancer” and shared essential insights.

In Angola, South Africa, France, New Caledonia, Gabon, Polynesia, and many other countries, our collaborators have shown great solidarity and kindness.

2024 Movember initiatives

Breaking the taboos, in November, our units communicated about prostate cancer and the preventive exams to be done.

In Brazil, Angola, Gabon, Sweden, and several other countries, conferences, conversations, and awareness sessions were organized to promote the well-being and health of everyone. The activities combined serious topics with fun activities to ensure everyone participated and felt involved. In Cabinda, for example, in addition to open conversations and a good meal, the teams held a best mustache contest!
