On May 14, World FM Day pays tribute to Facility Management (FM) professionals who, often behind the scenes, ensure the smooth operation of our living and working spaces. This year’s theme, “Resilience in action: Thriving in a world of change”, highlights their ability to innovate and adapt in the face of today’s challenges.

How companies perceive FM

Newrest has developed its Facility Management operations worldwide, particularly in Morocco, French Polynesia, and Türkiye.

In Morocco, an Ipsos survey conducted in 2025 reveals a still limited perception of FM. 60% of companies surveyed associate FM mainly with cleaning services, showing a lack of awareness of its strategic role. However, 83% of respondents believe FM services offer good value for money, indicating that despite this partial view, the service’s value is generally recognized.

The study also highlights specific expectations: 46% of companies prioritize responsiveness to urgent requests, while 17% emphasize service continuity, especially in the event of an incident.

These findings clearly show that FM is seen as a versatile and reliable solution, far beyond the simple execution of operational tasks. Aware of these expectations, Newrest now offers a wide range of multi-service and multi-technical solutions: maintenance, water and waste management, landscaping, interior design, among others. These solutions are systematically tailored to each client’s specific needs, ensuring a customized and effective response.

Beyond services, FM has become a true driver of sustainable performance. It plays a central role in CSR policies and resource optimization. As Jalal El Banouri, Sales Director of NFMS Morocco, points out: “Sustainable development is no longer an option, but a necessity.”

In response to growing challenges related to CSR, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, Newrest has implemented concrete actions to reduce its environmental footprint: energy contracts, eco-awareness campaigns, performance monitoring, etc.
