In 2024, the Open Capfinances Rouen Métropole took on a new dimension by becoming a WTA 250 tournament, thus entering the top 50 of the world’s largest women’s tennis events.

For beginners, WTA 250 is a category that includes women’s tennis tournaments played on the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) circuit where the winner earns 250 points. There are 4 categories of tournaments: WTA 1000, WTA 500, WTA 250, and WTA 125.

The 2024 edition of the Open Capfinances Rouen Métropole attracted more than 9.5 million viewers and over 20,000 visitors. The event officially put Rouen on the world tennis map.

The Open Capfinances Rouen Métropole is among the top 50 women’s tournaments worldwide, the top 3 international women’s tournaments in France, and the top 20 women’s tournaments in Europe. The competition lasts 9 days, and the total prize money for the tournament is 275,000 dollars. The televised matches are broadcast in 70 countries.

The tournament is supported by local authorities, all sports institutions, and more than 100 partners, including Newrest.

Newrest and the Open Capfinances Rouen Métropole, an obvious and strategic partnership
