Pierre Verdier and George Osagie accept the Airline Catering Safety Award

In November, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) organized its 2025 Safety Week and recognized Newrest Nigeria for its commitment to safety.

 

FAAN launches Safety Week in Nigeria

This week-long event was dedicated to promoting a safer and more efficient work environment across airports nationwide. It brought together aviation professionals, stakeholders, and airport staff to participate in safety awareness programs, training sessions, and discussions aimed at strengthening safety culture within the aviation sector.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, FAAN officials reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to maintaining world-class safety standards and fostering proactive safety practices in all airport operations.

 

Newrest receives an Airline Catering Safety Award

During FAAN’s 2025 Safety Week, George Osagie, Newrest’s QHSSE Manager, gave a presentation titled “There’s Nothing Rubbish About FOD”, highlighting the significant risks that Foreign Object Debris poses to aviation safety and to the industry’s bottom line.

On this occasion, Newrest Nigeria received the Airline Catering Safety Award in recognition of its unwavering commitment to safety and excellence in airside operations.

 

This award highlights Newrest’s daily dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards in its catering and logistics activities across Nigerian airports.
