North africa

On October 23, 2024, Mélanie Brgan, HR and School Relations Officer, and Marie Chiner, Director of Major Projects, participated in the forum at École Centrale de Casablanca to meet with students and discuss their career paths and the group’s projects.

Morocco is one of the first countries where Newrest established itself, and the country stands out in the African market due to its industrialization focused on the automotive and aerospace sectors.

An expertise center in Morocco

Newrest aims to create a center of competence for engineers specialized in automation, mechanics, data integration, robotics, and machine design based in the premises of its subsidiary Newrest Morocco.

The Group wishes to establish a strong partnership with the École Centrale de Casablanca, which trains students to tackle the technological and robotic challenges of tomorrow.

Thus, the Major Projects teams working at the headquarters have approached the École Centrale de Casablanca to benefit from the unique skills of its research teams and students.

The first step of this partnership was launched in the form of 3 projects for final-year students. In November, these students visited the Casablanca unit to discover the reality on the ground and communicate with various experts within the Group.

Newrest and the school aim to establish a research partnership and subsequently develop numerous dedicated projects.

Newrest, in search of Graduate profiles worldwide

Today, Newrest aims to develop its skills in France and internationally by relying on the best schools to support the increasing industrialization of its units. The Group is committed to highlighting the digitalization and automation of its processes, while integrating AI, to enhance its performance and quality in catering operations.

In parallel with its research projects, Newrest is starting to recruit young graduates with industrial profiles who can participate in the Graduate Program as part of the development of its 4.0 units (automated units).

The partnership between Newrest and the school will also facilitate the hiring of interns and alumni within the Group.

During the forum at École Centrale de Casablanca, Newrest’s teams were able to meet with students and discuss their career paths and the group’s projects.

They were able to talk with more than 150 students who were mainly looking for end-of-study internships in the fields of automation, maintenance, design, supply chain, data analysis, AI, etc.

This step of familiarizing students with Newrest’s challenges and opportunities will be followed by numerous beneficial exchanges for all stakeholders. The partnership with the research center is expected to give rise to several dedicated, ambitious, and innovative projects.
