Newrest won an iconic oil and gas contract in Cabinda (Angola) with Chevron

South africa

Last month, Newrest’s taskforce was mobilized for the opening of a new remote sites contract offshore and onshore in the province of Cabinda.

An important social content

Newrest now provides catering services to Chevron for its main onshore canteen as well as some offshore sites. To provide the service, the group paid attention to hire experienced people from the province, for all managerial and non-managerial positions reaching approximately 98% of Angolanisation.

This falls in line with Newrest’s CSR charter, to develop local content in support of the local economy.

Collective commitment to success

A taskforce of thirty people from all over the Group, has been mobilized in support of the local team as part of this opening. Core support functions were represented such as operation management, IT, QHSE and marketing to name a few. It is a great way to onboard our 200 new team members and share our DNA. We are now successfully serving around 1700 clients onshore and offshore.

Optimum safety and quality

Newrest is committed to offering quality catering service respecting highest safety standards. Thanks to digital tools and Winrest ERP, the QHSE policy is deployed quickly, and people are easily trained to apply the I Care program.
