Newrest Zambia has inaugurated its new production unit in Lusaka

25th January 2019 was festive day for Newrest Zambia Limited as the staff celebrated the internal official opening of their two-story unit.

The unit which had been in construction for 3 years, and finally opened its doors to Newrest Staff on 17th January 2019.

Excitement filled the air as staff worked long hours to ensure the bonded warehouse, administration and stores departments were effectively moved.

The well-ventilated unit fitted with state of the art all new Kitchen, Laundry, Canteen, Stores and Office equipment was a welcome change from the previous unit.

Employees spoken to expressed pride in their new work area.

“The new building has made us known, we are now visible to the public. I worked in the old unit for 7 years, the standards there had dropped. Now we are meeting the ISO standards, the cooling system is great. It takes only five minutes for food items to cool. This is very good for our job and meeting client satisfaction”, Eunice Mwanza – Cold Kitchen Supervisor.Speaking during the internal official opening, the General Manager Julien Vendrell thanked all the staff for their hard work, their commitment and dedication to Newrest Zambia. He especially thanked for their work during the move. He hoped the new unit, and all new Equipment would serve as a motivation for even better performance from the staff.
