Newrest takes part in Total E&P’s Moho Nord project

South africa

This giant facility was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea for the Moho Nord field and commissioned by Total E&P Congo. Thanks to the expertise of the Newrest Remote Site team, this FPU, which weighs 85,000 metric tons (including load) and can accommodate 219 people onboard, will reach the Republic of the Congo in 55 days, towed by the Dockwise Vanguard semi-submersible heavy transport vessel. Since its departure from South Korea, Newrest’s international team, led by a Dutch camp boss, has provided the catering and hotel services (cleaning and laundry) onboard. In order to meet passengers’ needs throughout the journey, our teams loaded 200 pallets of equipment and food and 85,000 bottles of water. Upon arrival in the Republic of the Congo in December 2016, Newrest Congo will take over the reins.
