Recently, Newrest’s inflight activity in South Africa has expanded with multiple new launches. Drawing on its expertise, Newrest continues to deliver personalized services and strengthen its partnerships with international airlines.
Strengthening inflight collaborations in South Africa
Since early October, Newrest South Africa has seen significant growth in its inflight services. The group had already launched two new partnerships at the beginning of the month with Norse Atlantic Airways and Delta Air Lines for catering services. This momentum continues with major new developments in South African airports.
First, the group has reinforced its well-established collaboration with Virgin Atlantic. From planning to take-off, Newrest provides its full expertise and offers all its services daily from Cape Town.
Then, on October 26, 2025, Newrest strengthened its partnership with Lufthansa by providing catering services on the Cape Town–Munich route. This milestone marks a major step forward, with continuous service seven days a week.
In addition, the airline has also introduced a Johannesburg–Munich route. This flight operates three times a week as a seasonal service.
Finally, Newrest announced a major breakthrough in partnership with British Airways: increasing from one to two daily flights to Cape Town, with a full range of services.
