As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and in response to client expectations, Newrest voluntarily undergoes an annual EcoVadis assessment at group level. This initiative plays a key role in structuring the organization and provides stakeholders with a clear and concise overview of its progress over time.

In 2025, Newrest achieved a score of 69/100, earning a bronze medal and ranking among the top 35% of companies assessed.

Over the past three years, the company has improved its score by 21 points, reflecting substantial progress and collective efforts across the organization. Newrest also remains above the industry average since 2024.

The role of EcoVadis in CSR evaluation

EcoVadis is a globally recognized CSR assessment platform that evaluates companies through an annual questionnaire based on four core topics:

• Labor & Human Rights
• Ethics
• Sustainable Procurement

The EcoVadis assessment is centralized at Newrest headquarters to ensure consistency and reliability. Moreover, it needs time and experience to provide accurate answers and documented evidence.

The questionnaire requires policies, reports, and concrete actions that reflect the group’s CSR commitments. For instance, key documents such as the group’s Code of Conduct, annual CSR Reports, the “be the change” charter, and reporting exported files are included in the response. Furthermore, the evaluation also relies on operational data, as well as on measures implemented across all activities. Consequently, filling in the questionnaire at group level ensures to have a structured approach and accurate reporting which ultimately drives continuous improvement.
