As part of its development strategy in the mining and energy sectors, Newrest recently participated in several major events across three continents. These gatherings highlighted the group’s expertise in managing remote site operations and catering services in isolated environments, while strengthening key partnerships with industry stakeholders.

 

National Mining Congress in Colombia

In August, Luisa Salazar, Commercial Director of Newrest Colombia, and Jorge Puertas Broggi, LATAM Business Development Director for Energy & Mining, attended the National Mining Congress organized by the Colombian Mining Association in Cartagena.

The event addressed the challenges of building a more sustainable and inclusive mining industry. Newrest presented its approach focused on service quality, community well-being, and partner trust. These discussions reinforced ties with local stakeholders and opened new avenues for collaboration.

 

PERUMIN 37: One of Latin America’s largest mining events

In September, Miguel Murrugarra, Commercial Director of Newrest Peru, and Jorge Manuel Puertas Broggi represented Newrest at the PERUMIN 37 mining convention in Arequipa, Peru.

Organized by the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP), this event is recognized as one of the most important in Latin America. It brings together key industry players around themes of innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation. Newrest’s presence underscored its commitment to developing integrated service solutions for mining projects in the region.

The Maple & Misti Cocktail 2025, held during PERUMIN 37, was a highly anticipated social event. As platinum sponsor of the cocktail, Newrest reaffirmed its commitment to key industry stakeholders. The event gathered over 900 participants and included official sponsors such as Teck Zafranal, a Newrest client.

 

African Energy Week and Insaka Summit: A strong commitment to the continent’s energy future

From September 29 to October 3, Claire Rathier, Business Development Manager for Energy and Mining, and Julien Vendrell, Vice President for Sub-Saharan Africa, represented Newrest at African Energy Week in Cape Town. Organized by the African Energy Chamber, the event brought together public and private decision-makers for strategic discussions on Africa’s energy development.

In October, Claire Rathier and Julien Vendrell also attended the Insaka Summit in Zambia, a country recognized as a leading global producer of copper and emeralds. This summit serves as a strategic platform for key mining stakeholders to discuss major industry challenges and identify collaborative solutions.

Newrest’s participation in these events confirms its commitment to providing solutions tailored to complex environments and its active contribution to discussions on responsible practices and sustainability in the African mining sector.

 

IMARC 2025: Newrest at the heart of mining innovation in Australia

From October 21 to 23, 2025, Newrest took part in IMARC 2025, the International Mining and Resources Conference held in Sydney, Australia. Emmanuel Garrigues, Vice President Business Development, represented the group.

The 2025 edition highlighted trends and strategies shaping the future of mining, offering Newrest an ideal platform to strengthen its position in the Australian market.
