Newrest Guyana supports the mobilization of a new FPSO in Singapore

Newrest Guyana is proud to provide catering and housekeeping services on board the 3 SBM FPSOs (floating production storage and offloading) operating in the country.

Local employment on Liza Destiny and Prosperity

Since taking over the operations of Liza Destiny in 2019 upon its arrival at the block 1 in Guyana, Newrest has increased efforts to involve its Guyanese employees in the mobilizations of Liza Unity in 2020 and Prosperity in 2022 in Singapore.

In 2020, 5 employees were involved for Liza Unity, and in 2022, Newrest sent 11 employees for Prosperity.

New mobilization for Newrest Guyana in 2024

In December 2024, Newrest Guyana raised the bar even higher by deploying 4 employees for the first phase of the project, followed by an additional 8 crew members for the sail.

The entire mobilization phase was managed by a Guyanese camp boss, Nevon Arno, who started working for Newrest Guyana in 2019 as a cook and climbed the ladder to become camp boss in July 2023.

A crucial and complex mission

Traveling from Georgetown to Panama, Istanbul and finally Singapore, Newrest mobilization team had a crucial and complex mission. They had to ensure the readiness of the FPSO’s living quarters to accommodate 160 people for the sail from Singapore up to Guyana, starting with the service of over 10,000 meals and the reception of over 200 pallets of goods.

Newrest Guyana’s support extended further as 3 members of the Georgetown office traveled to Singapore to offer operational and QHSE support to the mobilization.
