Newrest in Cabinda, Africa’s largest oil project for Chevron
Since 2023, Newrest Angola has been operating on the Cabinda site, the largest oil project in Africa, located in the north of the country. On this site, which employs more than 9,000 workers, we have mobilised 8 offshore platforms and an onshore camp (Malongo).
Newrest provides catering and kitchen equipment maintenance services for its client Chevron. Newrest is committed to strict compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards, as well as promoting local development by recruiting and training Angolan staff. In the group’s CSR charter, Newrest has set itself clear objectives in terms of employing local people, particularly at its isolated sites.
The group knows how to satisfy its customers by offering a continuous improvement approach. The equipment and structure of the kitchen have been improved. Newrest has also deployed digital tools such as Display’eat, connected mats and to-do lists to prepare service. On site, an annual entertainment programme has been put in place to provide a cheerful and colourful environment for residents.

Newrest strives to offer a varied, balanced and tasty diet, using local products and respecting customers’ cultural preferences. Newrest implements solutions to protect the environment by reducing its water and energy consumption, recycling its waste and using biodegradable packaging on site.
