In January 2026, wildfires devasted southern Chile, leaving many communities affected and in vulnerable situations. Newrest Chile mobilized to support those impacted through two initiatives.
The first initiative addressed immediate needs: two trucks were dispatched to the Biobío region. The first, sent to Lirquén, delivered food supplies and refrigerated vegetables to support community kitchens, in partnership with Desafío Levantemos Chile, enabling beneficiaries to access healthy and nutritious products. In total, more than 5,400 kilograms of food supplies were distributed.
The second truck arrived in Talcahuano, where various types of assistance adapted to local priorities were distributed. Beneficiaries received more than 700 units of hygiene and DIY items. This action was made possible thanks to the mobilization of our teams throughout the entire supply chain, as well as strong collaboration with suppliers and logistics partners, particularly Keylogistics and Transportes Nazar.
The second initiative aimed to support the reconstruction of housing for affected families, in partnership with TECHO Chile, a non-profit foundation dedicated to supporting families facing housing insecurity.
In partnership with TECHO, two homes were built and donated thanks to the commitment of volunteers. More than 20 Newrest employees from various departments took part in this construction day.
This commitment by Newrest Chile highlights the strength of collective solidarity: it enabled support for more than 270 families in need and brought together nearly forty volunteers and partners united by the desire to act. Such initiatives reflect Newrest’s ability to think beyond its core business and and to help those most in need.
Congratulations to the Chilean teams for these remarkable initiatives. Beyond this mobilization, our thoughts go out to the affected communities, whom Newrest remains committed to supporting as they face the consequences of these wildfires.
