– Our company was chosen by Engie to demonstrate our efforts to make our production processes more sustainable. We presented our CSR actions, our objectives as well as our common strategic topics with Engie.

– On October 20, 2023, we took part in a discussion with 11 other suppliers on the challenges of carbon neutrality. The aim of this meeting was to encourage all Engie suppliers to create sustainable development policies and strategies and implement concrete actions.

– Finally, on November 5, 2023, we attended ENGIE Chile’s Supplier Day 2023 along with several representatives from other companies. As a supplier and strategic partner, we received an award for our performance in “Sustainability Excellence”. The event covered a wide range of topics, including health and safety, progress towards 2023, and sustainability issues.

Participants shared experiences and acquired knowledge with the aim of strengthening business relations between all stakeholders.

Newrest announced its enrolment in the “Huella Chile” program and the completion of Newrest Chile’s carbon footprint.

Acting locally with our employees

The unit’s teams organized a waste collection on the UCN Coquimbo beach, in which employees and their children took part.

In addition to raising awareness of recycling and waste reduction, the event resulted in the collection of :

– Paper waste: around 7 kg

– Glass: 35 kg

– Plastic: 5 kg

– Seaweed: 50 kg

– 1 half can of cigarette butts

– Other waste: 15 kg

The group’s CSR commitments in favor of the planet

In line with the objectives of the Paris Agreement, Newrest is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. We use our carbon footprint analysis to identify priority actions to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. It is also essential for measuring the impact of initiatives linked to our five other environmental pillars.

To take concrete action to minimize our energy and water consumption, we have also set up the Imp’act program.

Raising awareness remains a major factor in mobilizing Newrest teams around these issues and ensuring the success of all these initiatives.
