Newrest: A key player in concession catering in France

A major player in concession catering in France, Newrest continues its expansion with the signing of 26 new contracts between May and September 2025, covering schools, senior residences, inter-administrative restaurants and inter-company restaurants.

Committed to responsible food practices, the group collaborates with over 800 local producers and suppliers, ensuring freshness, traceability, and support for the local economy.

To meet evolving guest expectations, Newrest innovates through distinctive concepts and technological solutions. By combining culinary innovation, service digitalization, and social responsibility, Newrest reinforces its leadership in corporate catering.

Recently, Newrest partnered with French start-up Edonia to introduce EDO in its kitchens. This exclusive collaboration supports sustainable and innovative food by offering plant-based, healthy, and minimally processed menus, while promoting local expertise.

Strategic partnerships and sustainable initiatives

Newrest reaffirmed its commitment to a resilient, fair, and sustainable food system by supporting the second edition of the Giverny de l’Alimentation, held on 8 October 2025 in Paris. This strategic event, led by the Cercle de Giverny and its partners, fosters dialogue and collaboration to develop responsible solutions for transforming the agri-food sector. As an international out-of-home catering provider, Newrest actively contributes to this movement by promoting sustainable agricultural practices and access to quality food for all. This partnership reflects the group’s commitment to co-developing, alongside all stakeholders, a food model tailored to current climate, health, and economic challenges.

This commitment is part of a broader support for regional initiatives and forums. For six years, Newrest has supported the Le Monde Nouveau forum, dedicated to environmental and societal transition, organized in Montpellier by Midi Libre newspaper. Rooted in Occitania, the group’s birthplace, this event gathers key regional stakeholders. As sponsor and service provider for Midi Libre, Newrest has participated in discussions through round tables and interviews, represented in 2025 by Morgane Jaffrézic, CSR Project Manager.

Newrest also builds daily partnerships with circular economy stakeholders. Alongside Atypique, the group combats food waste by promoting “ugly” vegetables. In 2025, these initiatives saved 311.48 tons of seasonal French fruits and vegetables.

The group also works with Les Alchimistes to scale up bio-waste recovery and with collectives such as Mon voisin me régale to support local producers.

Finally, Newrest created the “Fermes de Cœur” charter, deployed in France and Switzerland, formalising its commitment to direct collaboration with local producers.

Olivier Sadran’s recognition as “Personality of the Year” at the 2025 Ze Awards confirms Newrest’s strategic impact in concession catering. Through its dedication to sustainable food, structural partnerships, and operational innovations, the group stands out as a reference in transforming food practices in France.
