Newrest purchases part of Coralys’ capital

Europe

Coralys achieved €41m in turnover in 2015, mainly from catering in the school and medical-social sectors where it has recognized expertise. In order to guarantee its development, Coralys wanted to join forces with independent catering group Newrest.

This operation is a part of the Newrest strategy initiated in early 2016 by purchasing Apetito, with the aim of becoming a dynamic player in the institutional catering market in France via partnerships with high-quality companies.

Nicolas Dutilleul, founder and director of Coralys, will continue working with all his teams to guarantee development of and support for the institutional catering business.

  • About Newrest:

Founded as Catair in 1996, the Newrest Group, directed by Olivier Sadran and Jonathan Stent-Torriani, now ranks among the world’s largest multi-sector catering companies.

Newrest has a turnover of €954.9 million in 2014-2015 and has over 28,000 employees in 50 countries and served 1 million meals per day worldwide. Newrest is the only caterer active on all market segments for catering and associated services: inflight catering, rail catering, institutional catering, retail concessions, buy-on-board, duty-free on board, remote sites and support services.

  • About Coralys:

Coralys is a specialist in institutional catering in France that was created in December 1999 in Lyon. The company counts 1,200 employees and has earned the trust of over 250 establishments in the school and medical-social catering sectors in Paris, Nancy, Nice and Toulouse. Coralys also has solid implantation in the Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes regions.

Conscious of current public health challenges, Coralys initiated a “nutritional education” program for the well-being of all its clients (children, teenagers, adults, elderly or disabled persons), and to encourage a better approach to diet-related problems (obesity, anorexia, allergies, etc.).
