Newrest gives another step forward to support the inflight sector in Mexico

Alongside the airlines from the beginning of the crisis, Newrest joins the tourism companies that are adding up their efforts to reinforce Cancun, Mexico, as one of the best tourist areas in the Caribbean. By starting up a new route from Cancun toward Lisboa, TAP Air Portugal and Newrest began a new partnership in the middle of the crisis that has been affecting the aviation industry.

Since March 28th, Newrest has been serving TAP Air Portugal Business & Economy Classes’ passengers hot dinner and cold breakfast. Each week, 3 flights proceed on the new route toward Lisboa.

“We are exciting to start a new route in Mexico, they said, and we feel confident with a trust company as Newrest Mexico to make this route a success.”

Newrest Inflight Mexico

Newrest has been present in Mexico since 1998 and the construction of the Cancun production unit. This base exclusively provides inflight catering and services to airlines. In May 2017, a new production unit was born with the aim of delivering quality services to the 40 daily flights of United Airlines. This building has been specially designed to carry out the 7,700 operations per year with a kitchen capacity of 5,000 meals per day. The Cancun unit serves a multitude of airlines, both short and long-haul. In addition, this unit was certified ISO 9001 2015 in May 2017 and renewed in 2020.
