Cancer awareness initiatives around the world

More than a promise formulated in Newrest’s CSR charter, the Group illustrates its willingness to take part in strong societal commitments, notably through its participation in Pink October in various countries.

Numerous initiatives have been set up by Newrest units around the world to show their support.

• In Toulouse, the Group and the Fondation Toulouse Cancer has sponsored a collaborator’s rally. All proceeds from the race were donated to Fondation Toulouse Cancer. To support donations, click here : A fond pour les dons ! | Alvarum.
• Team in Toulouse took part in a Ride Row Run to raise funds for the Fondation Toulouse Cancer.
• In French Polynesia, the team took part in a unique competition featuring a one-day Va’a race on the theme of health.
• In South Africa, the team has proposed several awareness-raising initiatives, including a session with a nurse to learn about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
• In Greece, units took part in the 15th edition of the Greece Race for the Cure, a run and walk organized by the Panhellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer in Zappeion. Together with all the other participants, the event helps to raise public awareness of breast cancer. In all, more than 44,000 runners took to the starting line, spreading the message about the importance of early prevention, diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Through its participation, Newrest supports the Greece Race for the Cure®, the largest sporting and social event in Greece.

Participation in these awareness-raising events around the world reaffirms the Group’s commitment to cancer research and treatment.

Newrest supports the Fondation Toulouse Cancer Santé

Since 2018, Newrest has been involved in a battle close to its heart: cancer prevention and treatment. The Group is providing financial and human support to the Fondation Toulouse Cancer Santé, which is working to advance research and innovation in this field.

In so doing, Newrest wishes to express its solidarity with its employees around the world who are affected by this disease.

The group is also involved in the development of a unique center of excellence in France, the IUC – Oncopole, which brings together researchers, clinicians and industrialists in the field of cancer. This commitment is a sign of hope for those fighting cancer.

Newrest has also chosen to support the Fondation Toulouse Cancer Santé for emotional reasons. The Group is proud to be part of the economic and social fabric of Toulouse and wants to contribute to its influence.
